تعرب مؤسسة الإنصاف لحقوق الإنسان عن استنكارها الشديد لما قام به الشيخ عِداي الغريري من توزيع الحلوى في أحد جوامع العراق تزامنًا مع الأيام الأولى من شهر محرم الحرام، وهو شهرٌ له مكانة عظيمة في وجدان المسلمين، لما يحمله من دلالات الفاجعة والتضحية والعدالة، باستشهاد الإمام الحسين
(٤) وأهل بيته في كربلاء.
إن هذا الفعل، وإن جاء تحت غطاء “الفرح” أو “المبادرة الاجتماعية”, إلا أنه يُعد استفزازًا لمشاعر الاغلبية في الوطن وللملايين من المسلمين الشيعة الذين يحيون هذه الأيام
وما الخماك الوطني ولتعايش السلميمة المناسب
وتؤكد المؤسسة أن حرية التعبير لا تعني المساس بالمعتقدات الدينية أو الاستهانة بتاريخ دامٍ محفور في ذاكرة الشعوب الإسلامية، كما تدعو الجهات الرسمية والدينية إلى اتخاذ موقف سؤول وواضح وشفاف وسريع تجاه مثل هذه التصرفات التي قد تؤدي إلى اثارة الفتنة الطائفية والمجتمعية.

Statement of Condemnation

The Insaf Foundation for Human Rights strongly condemns the actions of Sheikh ’Uday Al-Ghurairi, who distributed sweets in one of Iraq’s mosques during the early days of the sacred month of Muharram — a month that holds deep significance in the hearts of Muslims due to its strong associations with tragedy, sacrifice, and justice, marked by the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his family in Karbala.

Although this act may have been presented as a “celebration” or a “social initiative,” it is nevertheless regarded as a provocation to the sentiments of the majority in the country and to millions of Shi’a Muslims who honor these days with mourning and reflection.

Such behavior is inconsistent with national unity and peaceful coexistence.

The Foundation affirms that freedom of expression does not extend to violating religious beliefs or trivializing a painful historical event deeply rooted in the memory of Islamic communities. It urges official and religious authorities to take a responsible, clear, transparent, and swift position regarding such actions, which could incite sectarian and societal discord.
